Top 5 Things to Do This Summer in DFW on a Budget

DFW is exploding with activities, events, and free things to do with family and friends this summer. We’ve rounded up five of our favorites in hopes that you get a little glimpse of all that DFW has to offer!

Paddleboarding

Whether it’s your first time stand up paddleboarding (SUP) or you’ve been before, DFW Surf offers paddleboarding (SUP) for any skill level at Little Elm Beach. Just a little less than one hour from Downtown Dallas, Little Elm Beach offers beautiful waters and clear clean sand you won’t find anywhere else in the DFW area!

SUP rentals are $25/hour and you can book online HERE!

Little Elm Beach

Little Elm Beach really is a rare find. We not only import soft sand, but filter our sand every day too. The beach is a perfect staycation for those missing the shore but who don’t have the time to drive five hours to the murky waters of Galveston. We suggest bringing the family for the day and exploring the entire Lakefront district. Stop by Hula Hut for lunch, and grab a drink from Margarita Hut to make your day trip complete!

Little Elm Beach is always open and free.

The Modern

If you’re looking for a place indoors that is bursting with contemporary art and incredible design, you must stop by the The Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth. The building’s architecture truly is a sight to behold, and the museum offers FREE entry on Sundays and half-price Wednesdays!

The Modern is FREE admission on Sundays and half-off admission on Wednesdays.

Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge

If you’ve driven into Dallas, chances are you’ve spotted the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. The bridge offers a picture perfect view of the Dallas skyline and is within walking distance of several restaurants at Trinity Groves.

The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is always free to visit.

The Texas Pool

If you’re a proud Texan, there’s no way you can afford to pass this one up. The Texas Pool is a historic 168,000-gallon saltwater pool shaped like Texas in Plano, Texas. This is a great place to take the family for the day and enjoy the cool water in the Texas heat. Memberships are available and a day pass is only $10 per individual, or $30 per family.

The Texas Pool is $10/day per individual or $30/day per family.

Grab your friends and family and add these DFW destinations to your summer bucket list!
