Top 5 Things to Do This Summer in DFW on a Budget
DFW is exploding with activities, events, and free things to do with family and friends this summer. We’ve rounded up five of our favorites in hopes that you get a little glimpse of all that DFW has to offer!
Whether it’s your first time paddle boarding (SUP) or you’ve been before, DFW Surf offers paddle boarding (SUP) with any skill level at Little Elm Beach. Just a little less than one hour from downtown Dallas, Little Elm Beach offers beautiful waters and clear clean sand you won’t find anywhere else in the DFW area!
SUP rentals are $25/hour and you can book online HERE!
The beach at Little Elm really is a rare find. Little Elm Beach is a section of Lake Lewisville that not only imports crystal clear sand, but filters their sand everyday with their one of a kind Beach Tech 2000. The beach is a perfect staycation for those missing the shore but don’t have the time to drive five hours to the murky waters of Galveston. We suggest bringing the family for the day and exploring the Lakefront district of Little Elm. Stop by the Hula Hut for lunch, and grab a drink from Margarita Hut to go, to make your day trip complete!
Little Elm Beach is FREE Admission.
3. The Modern
If you’re looking for a place indoors that is bursting with contemporary art and incredible design, you must stop by the The Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth. The building’s architecture truly is a sight in itself, and the museum offers FREE entry on Sundays and half price Wednesdays!
The Modern is FREE admission on Sundays, half off admission on Wednesdays
If you’ve driven into Dallas chances are you’ve spotted the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. The bridge offers a picture perfect view of the Dallas skyline, and is equipped with picnic benches, children’s playgrounds, and an array of restaurants within walking distance at Trinity Groves.
Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is FREE to visit.
If you’re a proud Texan then there’s no way you can afford to pass this one up. The Texas Pool is a historic 168,000-gallon saltwater pool shaped like Texas in Plano, Texas. This is a great place to take the family for a day trip out to Plano and enjoy the cool water in the Texas heat. Memberships are available and a day pass is a mere $10 per individual, or $30 per family.
The Texas Pool is $10/day pass and $30/family day pass.
Grab your friends and/or family and add these DFW destinations to your summer bucket list!
