Happy New Year!

As the holidays leave us, we are ready to bring in a new year and a new decade! If you have a resolution, we encourage you to stick with it! If you resolve to incorporate more exercise and activity into your new year, head to The Lakefront for some extra motivation.

If you resolve to get more exercise this year, start out by heading to the Little Elm Recreation Center. With an easy location in the center of The Lakefront, this facility overlooks trails and the lake! Come out to their Open House on Saturday, January 11, for class demonstrations, giveaways, and tours! This 7,000-square-foot facility is home to a full fitness floor, group fitness classes, child watch, and more. To learn more about the Recreation Center, head to www.littleelmfun.com.

A great way to help stick to your exercise plan is to consider training for a race or setting an end goal. Sign up for the Little Elm Big Easy Night Race! Train for the 5K or even the 10K, you have until Saturday, March 7, so get to it! This event is not only a race but a huge Mardis Gras event presented by Coker, Robb, & Cannon Family Lawyers. There will be a crawfish boil, live music, and each finisher 21 and over will receive two free beers! Come out to Little Elm Park in your best Mardi Gras attire.

Once you have conquered the Big Easy in Little Elm, you will want to come back to The Lakefront for more activity and adventures, especially as the weather warms up! Be sure to check out our many trails that can connect you to The Lakefront from just about anywhere in town and provide amazing scenic views. Don’t forget about DFW Surf, where you can rent out stand up paddleboards and kayaks! What a fresh and fun way to incorporate some outdoor activity!

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, be sure to hit up different Lakefront restaurants for a healthy snack or meal. Grab a protein-packed smoothie or bowl from QWNCH Juice Bar or head over to Hula Hut for a Surfer Salad. But, don’t forget that cheat meals are okay (in moderation), so go for the tacos at Fuzzy’s or Buffalo Chicken Sliders at Towers Taphouse.
